Note: Mercury Marquis did not suffer fiber breakage after all! What we thought was fiber breaks turned out to be a really bad haircut, courtesy of Hot Pepper's little teeth! He won his first red ribbon at Topeka. --Sharlene

We did not take Mercury Marquis and Hot Pepper to Shreveport because of the alpaca virus outbreak. After learning how to watch for the virus and a treatment plan for it, we should be back on track for the remainder of this season’s shows. I will always err on the side of caution where the health of my animals is concerned! --Sharlene

After winning a First Place at the 2007 Palmetto Alpaca Classic, and a Third at the New Mexico State Fair with judges’ comments that she is a beautiful and elegant girl, Mecca is being kept open for breeding to our incredible Mercury Marquis and retired from the show ring. She has earned her right to take it easy now, as she enters the motherhood stage of her life. Watch for the announcement of this wonderful cria sometime in 2008. |
